Israeli society was not built by words but by the actions of caring, idealistic pioneers who recognized the needs of the time and made things happen. Today we no longer need to clear swamps, but the challenges that await us are no less important. The modern day call of Zionism has many dimensions. A major one is keeping the seams of our society together. Aliyah is one of the threads that strengthens Israel's social fabric. Together we will create a network that includes the extended family of Israel and tie the knots that will keep us as a society together. We invite you to be part of this challenge. Babait Beyahad - A modern day call to Zionism.

Our Stories
Sweet Jeremy and the Costume
Yonelle and Analise Hayoun, arrived from France with their son Jeremy and settled in Petach Tikva. They both found work, joined the Babait Beyahad program and were paired with Eti Amar and her family.
The Hayouns felt an immediate warm and reciprocal connection with the Amar family. Unfortunately, not long after their meeting, the Amar's home was destroyed by a fire and Eti had to be hospitalized.
Despite the terrible tragedy, the Babait Beyahad team was simply amazed at Eti's dedication toward the Hayouns. Eti insisted that someone call Analise to tell her that that the Purim costume she had promised to lend to Jeremy would not be available.
Analise visited Eti and could not stop singing praises for Eti and her family --- for all the good advise, help, and companionship the Amars displayed toward them, enabling them to make their aliyah and absorption a success. | | |
The Babait Beyahad / At Home-Together program provides new immigrants with an Israeli paired family based on common backgrounds and interests. It is a voluntary program whose goal is to connect between new immigrants and Israeli or veteran olim; families and singles. The program aims to help establish social contact between new immigrants and Israelis while offering the new immigrant a support system and assistance in technical navigation as well as help in becoming more familiar with and at home with his surroundings. It offers Israelis or former immigrants the opportunity to assist in the national priority of absorbing new immigrants and to become involved in an important community project.
Program Format
Families are paired according to individual suitability, common background (age, profession, children, etc.) language and interests. They are then invited to jointly participate in a variety of local recreational, cultural, social and enrichment activities as a basis for facilitating continuous contact between the participants. The Babait Beyahad Program offers professional counseling for coordination of expectations, definition of boundaries and inter-cultural changes, as well as follow up and supervision of families.
The program has two voluntary options:
Family accompanies family – establishing a connection between Israelis or veteran olim and new oleh families, students and lone soldiers, based on common backgrounds or interests.
Task volunteers – assistance to olim in a particular area, such as learning Hebrew, employment, advise, information etc.
